FAQ

Start with your own content. iCarTV takes care of the browsing, favorites and playback.

Before you press play.

What is iCarTV?

iCarTV is an iPhone media player for your own playlists, local videos and web videos.

Does iCarTV include TV channels or movies?

No. iCarTV is a player, not a content provider. Add your own playlist or local videos, and only use content you have permission to access.

How do I add a playlist?

Open Sources in the app and add an M3U / M3U8 link or import a playlist file. Channel names, groups and artwork are displayed when they are available in your source.

Can I play my own videos?

Yes. Import videos from Files or Photos and play supported files in the app.

Does CarPlay video work in every car?

No. This feature depends on the vehicle, head unit and iOS version. An entitlement or a successful test on one vehicle does not guarantee support on another.

Can I use iCarTV while driving?

Use video on a vehicle display only while parked. Never watch or operate video playback while driving.

Does iCarTV require a subscription?

Plans and pricing are not finalized. Details will be announced at launch. Third-party services may require their own subscriptions.

Will every video website work?

No. Websites may require a subscription, restrict embedded browsers or protect playback with DRM. A site opening in the browser does not guarantee its videos will play.

Why is my AirPlay device missing?

Make sure the receiver supports AirPlay, is turned on and is discoverable. Connecting your iPhone and receiver to the same Wi-Fi network is a useful first check. iOS manages the receiver list.

Can I download iCarTV now?

The app is being prepared for release. The App Store link will appear here when it is available.
